Dany Jean

With broken hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Dany Jean, who left this world doing something he loved, with someone he cherished deeply Tammy.

Dany first came to Cranbrook, BC from Quebec many years ago, and it was here he met the love of his life, Tammy Featherling, along with her children—Sidney, Kelsey, and Alex—who quickly became his own. In time, their family grew even more vibrant with the arrival of their beloved grandchildren: Wayne, Nevaeh, Kayley and Lilyth. These little ones brought Dany immeasurable joy—you could often find him singing, dancing, or just being delightfully silly with them.

Dany was a man of deep dedication, not only to his family but to his roots. He made an annual voyage back to Quebec to visit his beloved mother and spend time with his extended family and lifelong friends. And yet, his heart always led him home to BC, to his growing family and the community that came to know and love him.

He was a passionate outdoorsman who found peace and thrill in hunting, fishing, camping, and carving out trails on his Harley or side-by-side. He worked hard—but more importantly, he lived fully. His laughter, kindness, and spirited nature made him unforgettable.

To meet Dany was to be lucky. He was the kind of soul who’d lend a hand without hesitation, tease you just to coax out a smile, and stand by you like a rock when life got tough. Truly, one of the good ones.

Dany was preceded in death by his father’s Fernand Jean (Quebec dad) ,Horst-Gunther Featherling (BC dad), father-in-law Hans Haugen.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory’s:

Foster Children: Jamie and Ashley

His mother Yvette Vaillancourt, who held a special place in his heart

Siblings: Diane, Christian, Annie, and their partners

Nephews and Neice’s: Kaven, Kate, Jason, Allison, Daphnée, Marc-Andre, Erika, Pierre-Alexandre, Émile, Antoine, Christophe

And, Countless friends and chosen family, spanning coast to coast

Dany, your laughter echoes in the woods, your warmth lingers in the wind, and your spirit rolls freely on the open road.

– A service will be held July 25, 2025, at 2:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 2210 2nd st. N. Cranbrook.

À la douce mémoire de Dany Jean

24 août 1972 – 27 juin 2025 | Âge 52 ans

C’est le cœur brisé que nous annonçons le décès prématuré de Dany Jean, survenu alors qu’il faisait ce qu’il aimait, aux côtés de celle qu’il chérissait profondément, Tammy.

Originaire du Québec, Dany s’est installé à Cranbrook, en Colombie-Britannique, il y a de nombreuses années. C’est là qu’il a rencontré l’amour de sa vie, Tammy Featherling, ainsi que ses enfants — Sidney, Kelsey et Alex — qui sont rapidement devenus les siens. Leur famille s’est ensuite agrandie avec l’arrivée de leurs précieux petits-enfants : Wayne, Nevaeh, Kayley et Lilyth. Ces petits ont apporté à Danny une joie immense — on le retrouvait souvent chantant, dansant ou faisant simplement le clown avec eux.

Homme profondément attaché à ses racines, Dany faisait chaque année le voyage jusqu’au Québec pour rendre visite à sa chère mère et passer du temps avec sa famille élargie et ses amis de longue date. Pourtant, son cœur le ramenait toujours chez lui, en C.-B., auprès de sa famille grandissante et de la communauté qui l’aimait tant.

Amoureux de la nature, Dany trouvait paix et frissons dans la chasse, la pêche, le camping, et les balades en Harley ou en côte-à-côte. Il travaillait fort, mais vivait encore plus fort. Son rire, sa gentillesse et son esprit enjoué le rendaient inoubliable.

Avoir connu Dany, c’était une chance. Il tendait la main sans hésitation, taquinait pour faire sourire, et restait un pilier dans les moments difficiles. Un homme rare, vraiment.

Dany a été précédé dans la mort par ses pères bien-aimés : Fernand Jean (père du Québec) et Horst-Gunther Featherling (père de la C.-B.), beau-père Hans Haugen.

Il laisse dans le deuil :
