Jim Ashworth remembered in Cenotaph tribute
The sound of taps echoed through downtown Invermere Saturday, October 18 as Royal Canadian Legion Windermere District No. 71 members, family and friends gathered at the Cenotaph for a fitting memorial to Jim Ashworth.
A revered RCAF veteran who flew combat missions throughout the Second World War, Columbia Valley business owner and resident Jim Ashworth was 106 years upon passing.
The brief ceremony included the laying of wreath and words of honour and comfort by valley veterans, before a funeral service at the Invermere Legion.
Obituary of James Robert Ashworth.
