City seeks volunteers for 2026 advisory committees

Application deadline: Monday, November 10 at 4 p.m.

The City of Cranbrook is inviting residents to take an active role in shaping their community by volunteering to serve on one of the city’s advisory committees for 2026.

Serving on a committee is a meaningful way to contribute your expertise and help guide important local decisions.

Membership is open to all City of Cranbrook residents.

Current volunteer opportunities include:

Advisory Planning Commission

Provides advice to council on land use, community planning, proposed bylaws, and development permits. Three positions available.

Board of Variance

An independent body established under the Local Government Act that considers requests for minor variances to the City’s Zoning Bylaw when compliance would cause undue hardship due to site conditions. One position available.

Cranbrook Public Library Board

Oversees the operations and governance of the Library under the Library Act. Three positions available.

Key City Theatre Society

City council appoints one of the nine directors to the society’s board. The appointee provides regular updates to council on the society’s operations. One position available.
