Life in Marysville was filled with outdoor adventures. Susan spent much time riding bikes and sleighing on the “crazy trails”, playing at the park, and enjoying the falls, often only returning home when she heard mom’s distinctive whistle.

Susan welcomed her first born, Kyle in 1992, married Darren Baerg in 2001 and was blessed with 2 more children Mason, and Lauren. Her family was her greatest love. Over the years they lived in Kimberley, Cranbrook, and Golden. Although she and Darren moved to Ft. McMurray in 2019 for work, her plans were always to return to the Kootenays.

Susan was passionate about music; didn’t matter the genre she always knew the words. She found music soothing to the soul and could almost always be found listening to singing or dancing to her favorites.

In these last few months Susan recognized the need for spirituality in her life and was very thankful for the encouragement from those around her.

She was preceded by her parents Abram and Joan Unruh and father-in-law Art Baerg. She will be sorely missed by her husband Darren, her children Kyle, Mason, and Lauren, sister Marcie(Cam) St. Jean, mother-in-law Elaine Baerg, sister-in-law Connie(Rhet) Buterman, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A private service for Susan will be taking place.
