Danny (“Skins”) William Russell

July 20, 1959 – December 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Danny Russell (skins) announce his  sudden passing  on December 23rd, 2025 at the age of   66 years old.

Skins was born in Cranbrook, BC on July 20th, 1959.

Through his life Danny had many different job titles, working in forestry and for Golden College for many years were two of his favourites as well as his time spent at Williams with the boys.

He loved to swim/ fish/ hike, play crib and cards with his buddies, spend time in Yahk with his extended family and loved the yearly Yahk raft races that he participated in every single year. He also enjoyed doing anything that was around friends & family. He loved to have fun and his presence was always known by his unique laugh, crazy/fun stories & jokes and his amazing dancing skills (hahaha)!

Skins is survived by his longtime  common law wife Paula Lemay, Brother Robert (Lynn) Russell and his two sisters Cathy (Craig) McLean and Lorrie Russell. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Skins also had many life long friends.

He was pre-deceased by his loving parents Bill & Margaret Russell and his brother Lenny Russell and his beloved dog Charlotte the harlett.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 3rd, 2026 at the Cranbrook Hotel at 2:00pm.

In Lieu of flowers donation can be made to any local pet rescue.
