Obituary of Marilyn Laura
MARILYN LAURA (CAMPBELL) JORGENSEN
October 6, 1948 – December 2, 2025
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Marilyn died at the Invermere District Hospital (IDH) at the age of 77 after a long battle with lung disease.
After working nearly 50 years as a Registered Nurse at the Calgary General and Peter Lougheed Hospitals, she retired in Alberta and spent most of her time at her acreage near Chestermere with her beloved dogs. She graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge in 1971.
She lived a quiet life of faith, valued time with family and friends, and enjoyed reading, nature, and doing puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jorgen Peter Jorgensen, and leaves behind a daughter, Signe Moorey (David) and son, Jason Jorgensen. Her parents were Everett and Violet Campbell, and Marilyn was a sister to five other siblings.
The family is extremely grateful for the excellent care received from the IDH, Dr Kerri Johannson, Kirk Mathison and the team at South Health Campus, as well as Dr Muller and all the nurses and support staff at the Strathmore Medical Clinic. At her request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at cpff.ca/donate.
