Winter in the Wild returns Feb. 13 to 15
The countdown to Winter in the Wild 2026 is officially on.
The full event brochure and Feb. 13 to 15 weekend map are now available online at the District of Elkford’s website, so you can plan your Family Day long weekend in Elkford with confidence.
We’re kicking off the celebration with fireworks at Wapiti Ski Hill on Friday night, including a guided snowshoe to watch them from a great vantage point.
The fun then continues into Saturday and Sunday, with a wintery event lineup that includes the annual snow sculpture competition, pancake breakfast, snow-pitch game, youth archery, turkey toss, concession in the arena, free swimming and skating, arts and crafts, cardboard toboggan races, fun family choreo dance, scavenger hunt and an art show and sale.
Our 2026 event lineup also features ski hill bingo, day skiing and snowboarding, night skiing, rail jam, dummy downhill and beer gardens, plus much more!
Printed brochures will be landing soon at all District of Elkford facilities and select downtown locations, and you’ll be able to grab one at the event too. Now please consider this your cue to snowdance and summon some fresh powder for Elkford!
