Rockies Film Series’ next presentation is Out Standing

Rockies Film Series’ next feature presentation at Key City Theatre is Out Standing.

Out Standing is a film based on the life of Captain Sandra Perron – a woman who moved mountains and shattered limits that others thought impossible.

She did it with exceptional leadership, unmatched strength of character, and unwavering passion. Officer Sandra Perron resigns from the Canadian military after a controversial photo surfaces.

Adapting to civilian life amidst an investigation, she denies abuse allegations despite evidence suggesting mistreatment within her unit.

Nina Kiri delivers a gripping and nuanced performance as Captain Sandra Perron. Based on true events between 1991 – 1996 in the Canadian military, the film confronts us with the harsh realities faced by a woman determined to follow in her father’s footsteps and forge a career as a soldier.

Kiri brings depth and emotional truth to the role, capturing both the courage and vulnerability of a trailblazer. We are challenged by the brutal paradox of a soldier who learns to normalize violence as validation and survival strategy, that underscores both Captain Perron’s strength and the institution’s blindness.

Out Standing plays Tuesday, February 17 at 7 p.m. at Key City Theatre. Tickets are $15 all in price.

Thank you to our sponsor Munch Cafe & Deli who have sponsored this film!  There will be some door prizes for Munch cafe & deli!
