Annual forestry cross-training day held April 8

Great teamwork in action!

On Wednesday, April 8, members of the Cranbrook Fire Department joined forces with BC Wildfire Service crews for their annual forestry cross-training day.

Together, they shared knowledge on response tactics, crew roles, and equipment, all while strengthening how they work side-by-side during wildland and wildland urban interface fires.

One of the most valuable parts of the day? Building strong relationships that make a real difference when responding to emergencies together. To wrap things up, wildfire personnel even got hands-on experience with structural firefighting—an exciting way to learn and grow across teams!

We’re proud of the collaboration and dedication shown by everyone involved in keeping our community safe.
