Airtanker training set for Kootenay National Park

Parks Canada is conducting a joint training exercise with BC Wildfire Service tomorrow, May 21, near Kootenay Crossing in Kootenay National Park.

You may see aircraft dropping water in the area as firefighters practice procedures for requesting and coordinating airtanker support during wildfire response.

There is no wildfire and no risk to public safety related to this activity.

Drones are strictly prohibited—flying one puts lives at risk and can result in fines of up to $25,000.

Thank you for giving crews the space they need to train safely.
