Environment Canada has issued another severe thunderstorm alert covering the East Kootenay and Creston/Kootenay Lakes areas.

“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain. There is a risk of injury,” Environment Canada stated.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.

Environment Canada said its forecast confidence is high with a moderate expected impact level.
