Morgan Childs returns home for Feb. 3 performance
On Sunday, February 3 the amazing acoustics of Christ Church Trinity in Invermere will come alive with the exciting sounds of the Morgan Childs Quartet.
Featuring Invermere-raised Morgan, one of only a handful of Canadian musicians to twice receive the Grand Prix at the Montreal Jazz Festival, on drums, the group also includes former Boss Brass pianist Dave Restivo. Multi award winning saxophonist Kelly Jefferson fronts the ensemble and the fourth member is Jon Maharaj, one of Toronto’s most in demand bassists.
Invermere is one stop on the group’s extensive Western tour with shows in over 15 cities and towns in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon.
Today, Saturday January 19, Morgan will be interviewed by Margaret Gallagher on CBC’s Hot Air program on air and on-line. Tune in for details about the group and the tour.
Tickets are on sale at the Book Bar, Essentials, Pynelogs and Picture This Foto Source in Invermere and at Radium Video/Furry Companions and Fairmont Village Gift Shop.
Don’t miss this chance to participate in a live performance of one of Canada’s foremost Jazz Quartets.
Presented for your enjoyment by CVArts with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Government of British Columbia.
