The District of Elkford this morning reported the district is currently in Stage 5, which involves multi-day water testing in coordination with the Interior Health Authority.

To prevent contamination, low-pressure areas will remain at reduced pressure until the Health Authority confirms the water is safe and the two water lines can be connected.

What you need to know:

• Tap water is not considered potable at this time.
• The Boil Water Notice remains in effect.
• Water samples continue to be collected at different times from various locations.
• Once the required samples are gathered, staff will transport them immediately to a Calgary laboratory for processing.
