Obituary of David “Dave” John White
David “Dave” John White
With heavy hearts, the family of David John “Dave” White announces his passing on May 31, 2026, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, at the age of 85.
Dave was born on March 9, 1941, in Vita, Manitoba, to Thomas and Emily White. He moved to Cranbrook as a teenager, where he would later meet his wife, Joanne, and build the life and family that meant so much to him.
Dave spent many years working as an automotive mechanic, a trade well suited to his practical nature and steady hands. In retirement, he enjoyed the simple routines and comforts of home: his daily walks to visit with neighbours, time spent with family, the companionship of his beloved cat, Pattison, and many hours tending the large vegetable garden he shared with Joanne.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne; his children, Todd, Cheryl, and Rhonda; his grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Ian, Amber, and Trista; and his great-grandson, Kaleb. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Emily; his siblings, Donald, Louie, Shirley, and Evelyn; and his daughter, Jeannie.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Post for his care and support, and to the first responders for their compassion and kindness.
