City says it’s working on the blueweed
Many residents have reached out about the large amount of blueweed showing up around the community this summer. We see it too.
City of Kimberley crews and contractors are actively conducting weed control on city-owned lands and rights-of-way throughout the season, with efforts focused on areas where invasive species are most prevalent.
While blueweed can be challenging to manage, ongoing treatment helps reduce its spread and impacts over time.
We’d also like to remind residents that, under the city’s Good Neighbour Bylaw, property owners are responsible for controlling noxious and invasive weeds on their own property, as well as adjacent boulevards.
Working together is the most effective way to prevent invasive species from spreading throughout our community.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to report problem areas and to those doing their part to manage weeds on their property and boulevard. Your efforts make a difference and help keep Kimberley looking its best.
