Paul Matthew Brandon

Paul passed away on July 14th, 2026 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin at the age of 80.

Born in Trochu, Alberta, Paul spent his early childhood in Canada then moved to the United States where he went to school in Pennsylvania. In his high school years, Paul became a competitive basketball player and carried on his love for basketball into university where he was recognized highly for his athletic ability.

In his early twenties, Paul was enlisted to the US Navy. Upon discharge Paul came back to Canada and met his beautiful wife, Evelyn. They were married two years later and started their family immediately.

Paul worked for Oakalla Prison in Burnaby BC while studying at night on his Theology degree with the goal of following in his father’s footsteps of becoming a pastor.

Paul graduated in 1981 and joined Village Missions, serving small communities across British Columbia. Paul had a long and fulfilling career as a pastor and ended up in Greenwood, BC as his last church before retiring.

Paul moved to Kimberley, BC in 2020 to be closer to family and served many churches in the East Kootenay’s in the last six years as stand in pastor and worship leader.

Paul loved country gospel music and enjoyed learning and playing guitar with multiple bands over the years, even traveling to gigs in his greyhound bus.

Paul was predeceased by his parents Bertram and Edith Brandon, his brother Bertram Brandon, his sister Ruth Brandon and his daughter Becky Brandon.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughter Janice (Douglas), grandchildren Ty, Rowan, Bronwyn and his siblings Maryanne, Faith (Gary), Elizabeth, Helen and many nieces and nephews.

A Service for Paul will take place at a later date.
