Obituary of Michael Cabelguen
Michael “Mush” Cabelguen
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and friend, Michel “Mush” Cabelguen.
Michel spent most of his life in Edgewater, where he built not only his home but a lifetime of memories. He worked hard every day to provide for his family, and everything he did came from a place of love. His family was always what mattered most to him.
If you stopped by, there was a good chance you’d find him out in the greenhouse planting flowers or, once winter rolled around, outside putting up his Christmas lights. He loved the simple things in life, an afternoon beer after a long day’s work, a glass of wine with dinner, and having his family all together. He had a quiet, gentle way about him and made everyone feel welcome.
His grandchildren knew there would always be sweets waiting for them whenever they came to visit—a small but meaningful tradition that perfectly reflected his thoughtful and loving heart.
Michel leaves behind a family who will forever carry his love with them: his daughter, Renee, and her children, Alysha (Dalton) Jagger and Hanna (Justin); his son, Neil, and his children, Ashlie, Jasmine, and Trenton; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Mylah and Brinley, who brought him so much pride and joy.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Chris, Jacques, Phil, Raymo, and Serge, his sister Monique, and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.
Michel was predeceased by his beloved parents, Carmen and Pete, and we find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, patience, and unconditional love for his family. We’ll think of him every time we see flowers blooming, Christmas lights shining in the winter, or gather around the table with the people we love.
You gave us a lifetime of love and memories, and we’ll spend the rest of ours cherishing them. Until we meet again Dad, Grandpa, Gramps, Papa, Mush. We love you forever
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Edgewater.
