Mike Gray confirms hat is in the ring
Village of Radium Hot Springs Mayor Mike Gray will be running for re-election in the Oct. 17 municipal and school district elections.
In an August 28 social media post, Gray said he needed to address the rumour that he will be running again; he is.
“I’m not sure how these things get started, but I figured I should probably build a website just in case,” he said.
“Anyway, mikegray.ca is now live, so I suppose we’re committed.
“Over the last few months I’ve spent a frankly unreasonable amount of time thinking about how to explain why I want to do this again, what I’m proud of from the last four years, and what I think matters most for Radium next.
“The simplest answer is that I genuinely enjoy this work.”
Gray said he enjoys complicated problems.
“I like hearing an argument that makes me stop and reconsider something. I like trying to understand where people are coming from, especially when we disagree. And I find it incredibly satisfying when a group of people can work through something difficult and arrive at a good decision.
“The website talks about some of the things we’ve worked on over the last four years, some of the big questions ahead, and how I try to approach the job.
“I’ve also added something a little different: a place for people to share their own experiences working with me.
“If you’ve seen me handle a difficult issue, listen when people disagreed, bring people together, follow through on something, or just have a story that you think says something about how I do the job, I’d genuinely love to hear it. I’d like this campaign to include some voices other than mine.”
