This is a reminder that the 2026 General Local Election for Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Electoral Areas E and F, as well as Area B and F and Canal Flats school board trustees, will be held on October 17, with your first opportunity to participate in Advance Voting tomorrow, October 7.

If you are not on the list of electors, you may register at the time of voting by completing the application form available at the voting place.

Advance Voting locations include:

RDEK Electoral Area E Electors: Wasa Community Hall, 6145 Wasa School Rd., Wasa.

RDEK Electoral Area F Electors: Fairmont Lions Den, 5003 Hot Springs Road, Fairmont Hot Springs.

The next Advance Voting date will be October 13.

The first chance to participate in Advance Voting for the General School Election also happens tomorrow, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

General School Elections will be held for School District No. 5 – Trustee Electoral Area 4 (RDEK Electoral Area B); and School District No. 6 – Trustee Electoral Area 4 (RDEK Electoral Area F and Village of Canal Flats) this year.

Advance Voting locations include:

RDEK Electoral Area B Electors (October 7 & 13);

• Jaffray Community Hall, 7375 Jaffray Village Loop Road

RDEK Electoral Area F Electors – (October 7 & 13);

• Fairmont Lions Den (5003 Hot Springs Rd., Fairmont Hot Springs)

Village of Canal Flats Electors – (October 7 & 15);

• Village of Canal Flats Office (8866 Grainger Rd., Canal Flats)

General Voting Day – Saturday, October 17.
