Obituary of Connie Marie Biddles

Connie Marie Biddles

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Connie Marie Biddles. Connie was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and coworker whose warmth, strength and kindness touched the lives of so many.

Connie was born in Cabri, Saskatchewan on July 12, 1959. Connie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Family was Connie’s life and she loved her family with her whole heart. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, and her love was so special and truly one of a kind. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and we greatly miss hearing her laugh and seeing her smile.

Connie gave the best hugs, and she always greeted everyone with open arms. She always went out of her way to make people feel special and to show them how loved they were. Connie was always there when people needed her. She listened without judgment and was there if you needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. She had a great sense of humour, and we cherish the moments when she laughed so hard that she cried tears of joy.

Connie was the strongest woman. Her strength and resilience prevailed during the most difficult seasons of her life. Her unwavering strength and determination are deeply admired and are truly an inspiration.

Connie loved spending time with family. It didn’t matter what we were doing, as long as we were together. Connie loved playing cards and all types of games—she was the best crib player and a longstanding beanbag champion. Summers at Moyie Lake were especially meaningful to her, filled with swimming, relaxing afternoons on the beach, and games of bingo.

Connie loved canning and was well known among family and friends for her garlic dill pickles, salsa, and antipasta. Connie was a wonderful cook and especially loved baking treats at Christmas.

She loved travelling and spending evenings out dancing with the love of her life, her husband Randy.

One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother. She adored her granddaughter, Mavryk, and treasured the time they spent together playing, reading, or simply enjoying one another’s company.

Curling was another important part of Connie’s life. She was an avid curler and enjoyed weeknight curling and travelling to bonspiels with friends. Connie was a Mary Kay consultant for 30 years. Through her involvement with Mary Kay, she made many lasting friendships and created wonderful memories. On warm summer evenings, you could find Connie sitting on the deck, enjoying the company of family and friends while indulging in a glass of red wine and some Hawkins Cheezies or chocolate.

Caring for others was not only part of who Connie was at home; it was the foundation of an extraordinary 46-year nursing career. Connie became a registered nurse at the age of 20. Throughout her career, she worked in six different hospitals in various departments. For the past 30 years, Connie worked at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook. In 2023, Connie retired and returned to work casually at EKRH in the Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Surgical Daycare.

Connie was a skilled nurse and mentor. One of the most meaningful parts of her career was working alongside and mentoring her daughter as a fellow nurse. Connie was the best teacher, and her daughter was so lucky to have had the opportunity to work alongside her. Over the years, Connie made a positive impact on countless patients, supported generations of colleagues and formed many special friendships along the way.

We will forever treasure and hold close to our hearts all of the wonderful memories we shared with Connie. Connie touched the lives of so many, and the loss we all feel is truly immeasurable. Words cannot express how deeply she is missed.

Connie is survived by her husband, Randy Biddles; her daughter Alli and Karl Sandahl; her son Steve and Danielle Roberts; her daughter LaCara and Matt Randall and granddaughter Mavryk; her son Shane Biddles and Jordana Lakes; granddaughters Shilo Dye and Gabriella Blackmore; her brother Stewart Long, along with extended family and many dear friends.

Connie was predeceased by her first husband, Gerry Roberts; her parents Lewis and Bertha Long; her mother-in-law Ingrid Fox; her father-in-law Ron Biddles; and her mother-in-law Ona Roberts.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m at McPherson Funeral Home.

Connie’s celebration of life will be held on September 19th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m at McPherson Funeral Home, with a reception at the Cranbrook Curling Club to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Connie to the BC Cancer Foundation or to the SPCA.
