Artrageous funding

The Cranbrook & District Arts Council will benefit from a $7,500 Community Gaming Grant from the Ministry of Community, Sport, and Cultural Development.

Community Gaming Grants help local groups provide important services for B.C. families. Across British Columbia, 42 recipients will share $1,363,010 in the latest rounds of grants.

“This organization does so much to improve the community’s access to the arts, and this grant is intended to do the same thing,” said Kootenay East MLA Bill Bennett July 18. “These funds will support the ‘Artrageous Gallery,’ which showcases and celebrates the fine work of our local artists.”

Community Gaming Grants allow non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues. Approximately 5,300 community groups benefited from funding during 2012/13.
