November in the East Kootenay
It’s all up hill into a lighter world today.
Yesterday was the darkest of the year in our parts – Dec. 21 – winter begins. The fall has ceased.
The fact that I am just now publishing our view of November 2013 in the East Kootenay is proof that the fall was rapid and sharp. One of the grimmer and more sinister months of the year, arriving on the wink and jab of Hallow Eve, November is not a photographer’s dream – unless said shooter worships murky light and heavy clouds and is pleased when the gorgeous butterscotch of October becomes overcome by the ominous shadows of winter. There just doesn’t seem to be many open windows for shoots in November.
So enough of the excuses – our collection for November is fairly skinny because we also actually escaped for a couple of long overdue getaways.
Adding to this month’s collection are two images from reader Jim Watt: Whitetail Lake from Whitetail Mountain and Swansea – Stairway to Heaven. Thanks Jim!
