Arbuckle, Mary

Mar 14, 1925 – Jan 16, 2014

In the early morning hours of Thursday, January 16, 2013, Mary Arbuckle passed away peacefully at the Kimberley Special Care Home (The Pines) at the age of 88 years.  Mary was born on March 14, 1925 in Fernie, BC.

Mary always loved to cook and feed us all so well.  She truly loved her garden and what she could harvest from it for her children.  Our family enjoyed many of her delicious home-cooked meals.  Mary was widowed at a very young age and was left to raise her family of four children on her own.  To help make ends meet, she worked as a hairdresser for a time.  Life wasn’t always easy for her, but she did her best.

Mary leaves to mourn her passing her four children; Tom (Betty), Colin, David and Melanie as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A special thank you to the staff at The Pines for everything they did for our Mother.  Your kindness is truly appreciated.

At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral service.  A private family gathering will take place in the spring.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com
