Kimberley taxi driver robbed
A Kimberley taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night just before midnight in Marysville.
The driver received a call from a male who asked to be picked up near the swings at the Marysville Park (303 St and 308th Ave). The driver attended; a lone male produced a handgun and demanded money. Once the subject obtained the money he fled on foot.
Members from Cranbrook and Kimberley RCMP converged on the area and conducted extensive patrols. A police dog also attended and obtained a track but was but was unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s, with blue eyes, wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie and a white ski mask. He made the call to the taxi from the pay phone at the Marysville PetroCan around 11:30 p.m.
