Sparwood is the place to be this weekend, starting Friday, June 13 and running through to Sunday, June 15 as Coal Miner Days unfolds.

The community will be host to a myriad of fun, family events, from fireworks to a soap box derby, barbecues, the 5/8km Sparwood Classic Races, pancake breakfasts, a golf tourney, slow-pitch tournament, ball hockey tourney, crib tourney, poker tourney and of course the annual Coal Miners Days Parade and Kids Festival.

There will be displays of all kinds, from static to live action, bed races, a bike rodeo and a tug of war; a Living Fitness Challenge, Fire Fit Challenge, street market, wine and cheese social and, of course a cabaret and beer gardens.

On Friday, June 13, in conjunction with the Coal Miners Diner Show and Shine, there will be an Indie Music Stage – brought to Coal Miner Days by Lynch Records. So bring a lawn chair, check out the vehicles and listen to the entertainment. Shelley Lynch is a well-known Elk Valley artist – and has recorded in Nashville – so the music is going to be amazing!
