June in the East Kootenay

June is the busiest month of the year for us at e-KNOW.

Thankfully, we didn’t have the flooding in the region that has occurred the past two years, events that forced us out and about more in June. Though there were worries mid-way through the month of waterways rising. And Elizabeth Lake continues to cause headaches for the City of Cranbrook and Regional District of East Kootenay.

This year, we had to get out and about for different reasons – including my youngest step-son’s wedding at Springs Golf Course in Radium Hot Springs June 7.

It was one of those awesome ‘oh wow’ events, where your heart fills from seeing how incredible someone you love really is. Despite my best efforts, Scooter, you turned out to be a freakin’ awesome person. You too Amanda! Congratulations!

As usual, I try to present a collection of photos that tell a story about what went down during a given month around the region. June is a month of renewed zeal in barbecuing, hiking and outdoorsy fun all-around.

This month’s collection also features a rare shot of recently retired CPR hogger Don Botterill. “The only picture taken in the 37 year’s of service. Lookin’ good Donny!” Noted his wife Linda who shared the shot on Facebook. Congrats! Photo by Jason Botterill.

This month’s collection includes photos from Cranbrook and area, Corbin/Corbin Road area, Sparwood, Kimberley and area, Fairmont Hot Springs, Tata Creek and Radium Hot Springs.
