1920 – 2014
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Irene Jarrett announces her passing on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 94 years of age.
Irene was born on January 29, 1920 in England. She immigrated to Nordegg, Alberta in 1921. In 1924 she moved to Kimberley’s Top Mine. She was a kind woman and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Irene was proud to be the oldest member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kimberley.
Irene is survived by her son Dan and his friend Sharon; 3 grandchildren Vaughn (Michelle), Troy (Corrine) and Dannette (Kendall); 7 great granddaughters; 1 great great granddaughter; 1 great great grandson; Rea, Val and Vern (Lonnie) and their son Nick, as well as many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Doug and her son Darryl.
A memorial gathering will be held for Irene in May 2015. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Irene may do so to the: Alzheimer Society of BC, #300, 828 – West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.
