Horoscope for the week beginning Oct. 30

Tip of the week
As I write, the Sun has just entered Scorpio in the Tropical Zodiac as 10:47 a.m. PDT. Pluto, which is in Capricorn and is the ruling ‘planet’ (a rose by any other name…and this one has long, sharp thorns), is at the apex point of a T-Square formed by an Opposition between Uranus in Aries and Mercury in Libra, which is exact on October 25. Mars meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Scorpio and which now shares co-rulership, is in Virgo conjunct Jupiter and Venus, each two degrees apart.
In my October 16 Horoscope I wrote the following: “While Mars is well placed in Virgo, Venus and Jupiter are both more challenged there. However, the fact that they are closely aligned serves to uplift their respective energies like quality time shared among good friends during challenging times simply chalked-up to bad weather.”
As it turns out, the largest hurricane on record (Patricia), according to news reports, is raging right now on the mid-west coast of Mexico and it is heads inland. Experts are even saying it could move right across central Mexico and even grow again as it approaches the Gulf, on the other side of the country! By the time you read this that storm at least will have come and gone but will certainly have left a scourge of deep Scorpionic magnitude. In other words, that part of the world will be inexorably transformed and will be challenged to rise like the phoenix out of its ashes.

Oct. 30 – Nov. 5
Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)
The results of a prolonged invitation to deepen the scope and quality of your most intimate relationships should be pouring in by now. Over the past several months, but especially as many weeks, the returns are coming in. Some destinies are deeper than others and free will aside they have a way of producing predictable results. The other question is how to best respond.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)
Slowly but surely you are no longer quite the person you were a short while ago. This process will continue for many months. Yet already the signs are clear. These will bring challenges to decipher and define what makes you special. You are probably already quite busy answering this question. That you have to give more than usual is part of this plot.
Gemini (May 21 – June 21)
More than just a new chapter, the next sequel in your life has begun. It includes commitment primarily to your immediate family and friends. To this end you probably have reason to feel confident, yet you may also have to adjust to another kind of busy schedule. Getting comfortable may also require home improvements.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Despite a fresh flow of creative inspirations and invitations to play, you remain in a busy cycle. Whether by choice or circumstance you have a lot of work to do. Fortunately, your energy levels are probably running quite high still. Pace yourself and prepare for yet another round of multi-tasking. Tuck in some cultural activities to keep your spirits up and your energy reserves high.
Leo (July 22 – Aug 23)
Reaching within more deeply than you have for a while is now in focus. Your ambitions remain strong yet you may realize that you have to work within as much as without. This includes cultivating inner peace and confidence to accept and understand that there is a greater destiny at play. A major learning curve is rising, yet patience is a pre-requisite for success right now.
Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22)
An expansive cycle continues. This may include direct action but may simply amount to seeing a bigger picture of possibility. As a steady stream of change in your lifestyle progresses, you may notice that old players have left the stage and new ones have arrived. Yet it is the larger reality of the changing times and how to best adapt that must be addressed.
Libra (Sep 22 – Oct 22)
Working behind the scenes to produce measurable results without continues. Deciphering new and better ways to earn money is featured. The advent at least of new opportunities is also indicated and some of these doors may already have opened. Thanks to your own outreach efforts this is probably true. But the will take a while to achieve full momentum.
Scorpio (Oct 22 – Nov 21)
Your world is changing quickly now. However, some of these changes may not be so apparent. Beneath the surface of what might otherwise be a busy, breakthrough pace, subtler processes are underway. At deeper levels you may be busy dissolving inner doubts and indecision. At best these are serving to activate fresh inspirations, ideas and creative plans.
Sagittarius (Nov 21 – Dec 21)
Despite a busy time of late making progress perhaps especially in your public, professional and social spheres, you may feel the need to retreat for a while. Some attention will still be directed towards gathering new knowledge, skills and tools. If you cannot get away entirely, balancing outer social responsibilities with a lot of private time at home might just do the trick.
Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19)
Exploring a fuller scope of your individuality is underway. This may lead you to examine what is healthy and balanced and what is not. In fact, there is reason to say that this process has been happening for the past several months. Consequently, prior commitments in both your public/professional life and that of your private/family are ending as new ones begin.
Aquarius (Jan 19 – Feb 19)
A sudden turn of events in your public and professional life is getting your full attention. Circumstances are pushing you to give more and work harder than usual. This includes a mix of ambitious drive and active empathy. Positively, you are experiencing a healthy flow of returns for past efforts over the years. Expect this pace to continue and expect the unexpected.
Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)
An expansive cycle continues to call you out. It will however require more discipline and extra efforts. Reaching out to new connections and proposing creative collaborations may also prove necessary. As well, you may have to double up on your diplomatic efforts for pretty much the rest of the year. In the short term, concentrating your focus on deeper studies will provide needed balance.
