Obituary for Phyllis Mary Lake
Phyllis passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village, in Cranbrook, BC, surrounded by family on October 31, 2015, at 89 years of age.
Phyllis was born on September 8, 1926 in Invermere, BC. During her lifetime, she ran numerous businesses in Canal Flats, alongside her husband; a store, gas station, restaurant, and laundry mat. She also worked as a pastry chef for many years at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.
Phyllis enjoyed golfing, and curling however her passion was her music, playing the piano and many other instruments. She was a member of a senior’s band, entertaining and playing for dances.
Mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, friend; you will be dearly missed.
Phyllis is survived by her children Lynda (Mike), Diane (Ken), Sandra, Bill (Gayle), sibling Joan, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Calvin, siblings Pat and Bonnie, and her grandson Leslie.
A celebration of life will be arranged with family in the spring.
