The following is a summary of School District No. 5 (SD5) board motions carried during the February 9 board meeting held in Cranbrook.
Motions Carried
Policy
That Policy 6.2 School Planning Councils* be sent to the Board of Education for deletion.
General
Second and final reading** of the 2015/2016 Annual Budget Bylaw, in the amount of $65,378,613 was carried.
That the Board holds over the acceptance of the proposed three-year calendar until a special meeting of Trustees is held following the February 2016 committee meetings.
That the Board submit the Substantive Motion, Government Response to Correspondence, to the BCSTA for consideration at the April 2016 BCSTA AGM.
* Government has removed School Planning Councils (SPC) from legislation making any policy around the SPC obsolete.
** By law, three readings of the Budget bylaw must be completed prior to the end of June each year.
