1950 – 2017

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Barbara Colin announce her passing on Friday, December 22, 2017 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 66 years of age.

Barbara was born on December 28, 1950 in Regina, SK. She enjoyed many interests and talents including gardening, knitting, crocheting, reading, photography and computer skills. Barbara had a special bond with animals especially her beloved Yorkies Ginger and Cheyanne. Barbara was also a 31 year member of the A.A. program.

Barbara is survived by her husband Pete Colin, her daughters Jessalynne Purvis and Karianne Colin, her mother Bernice Mailhot, her siblings Carolyn (Pierre) Lafrance, Norman (Gail) Mailhot, Loopy (Lee) Pratt, Brenda (Derl) Pocha and Michelle Mailhot (Andy Braconnier), her step-sons Darcy, Cameron and Byron Colin, her grandchildren Payton and Damien Vyse, Dusty Bell, Annalee and Sylvi Colin, Aiden, Colby, Cohen, Regan, Aspen and Rayan Colin, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara was predeceased by her father Gaston “Nash” Mailhot, her brother Bradley Mailhot and her step-daughter Kimberley Colin.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held at the New Life Foursquare Church (308 – 10th Avenue South in Cranbrook) on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am.

Cremation preceded the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the SPCA in Cranbrook or the Women’s Transition Home.
