Obituary for Edith Tapp

Edith Tapp

“Edie”
1927 – 2017

Edith Tapp passed away peacefully at the F. W. Green Memorial Home, in Cranbrook, BC on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the age of ninety.

She was born Edith Jenkins in Biggar, Saskatchewan in 1927. Edie was an excellent student, and graduated as a legal secretary in Regina. She married her childhood sweetheart Bus in 1947 and started a new life and family in Kimberley.

Edie worked for many years as a school secretary. Besides being a great organizer, she was the go-to person when a young student had a skinned knee or needed someone to hug them. Edie loved to ski, golf and travel. Her trips to the Mediterranean coast and winters in Yuma were among her favorites.

Edie was married for sixty four years to Bus, who passed away in 2011. She was remarried to Elmer Becker in 2013.

Always a great socializer, Edie had many coffee and bridge friends. People will remember her quick wit and sense of humor.

Edie is survived by her children Jann Caufield and Randy Tapp and their families, including grandchildren and great grandchildren; Elmer Becker and his family; and cousins, nieces and nephews, ranging from Texas to Manitoba.

A memorial service for Edie will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. If you are able, please join us to honor Edie and a life well lived.

The family would like to thank the staff at the F. W. Green Memorial Home and Joseph Creek Care Village for the kindness and compassion that they gave to Edie while she was in their care. Your exceptional caring helped make her world a brighter place.
