Obituary for David Douglas ANDERSON

David Douglas ANDERSON

April 14, 1952 – July 3, 2018

One of four children, Dave was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon on April 14, 1952 to parent Al and Nancy Anderson.
Dave came to the Elk Valley in 1980 to help his parents and brother build the Elk Valley Trailer Park. He started his mining career at the Greenhills Mine in 1981 and worked there until his death, making many friends over the years.

Dave was always busy, whether it was working on his vehicles, getting his winter wood in place, or doing yard work at his place or the neighbours. He helped his neighbours with driveway clearing in winter and tree pruning in the spring; a helping hand just a phone call away. Dave loved hunting, and a group of friends came to Elkford every year to join him.

“Papa Pest” adored his children and grandchildren. He was loved by all of them and they enjoyed his constant tormenting! He was so proud to be called Papa Pest, and was especially proud of becoming a great grandfather when Sophia was born.
Dave will be remembered for his love of life, his contagious laughter, and his huge, loving heart. He will be missed by many! Rest in Peace.

Dave is survived by his wife Gwen Botley, 5 children: Lisa, Sherill, and Doug Anderson, Michael Botley (Azure-dee), and Rory Botley, 7 grandchildren: Kennady, Kyle, Jeryith, Paul, Chase (Rebecca), Bryce, and Kiana, and his great granddaughter Sophia. Also left to mourn his passing, his parents Al and Nancy, sisters Anne and Susan (Pat), and his brother Michael (Kathy), his mother-in-law Ella Anderson and sisters-in-law Brenda (Maurice) and Janice as well as many nieces and nephews and his special hunting buddy Tony. Dave was predeceased by his daughter Alysha Boltley.
