Obituary for Moris Ferdinando Paron

Moris Ferdinando Paron

1932 – 2017

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Moris Paron at 85 years of age on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Cranbrook. Moris was born in Grenoble, France on February 13, 1932. Upon the passing of his father in April 1932, the family returned to their roots in Arzene, Friuli, Italy where Moris attended school and became a Baker’s apprentice.

In 1951 Moris immigrated to Canada to meet with his mother and brother in Natal, BC. He worked in Natal for CNI until their closure in 1970. He then moved to Cranbrook and worked for CFI for 27 years, mostly as a lumber grader.

Moris enjoyed fishing and sports and was a very good soccer player in his early years. In his later years, he watched the games on TV. Moris enjoyed bowling and was also an expert bocce player winning many trophies over the years. He was also a committed Toronto Maple Leafs fan forever!

Moris is survived by his wife of 46 years Irma, his son Mark, his in-laws Gustav Meshwa and Sandy (Barry) McNamar and many nieces and nephews.

Moris was predeceased by his parents, infant twin sisters and his beloved brother Bruno.

Father John Kellogg will officiate a private funeral service for Moris. Moris will be interred in the Westlawn Cemetery Columbarium in Cranbrook.
