David Anthony Fiorentino

David was a part of a large loving family and lived his life in the City of Cranbrook. Dave was predeceased by his father Guy, his little brother (BB/BS) Eric Nolting, Melanie’s parents Ken and Barb Roberts and his dear friend JoAnne Mann.

David is survived by his loving wife and best friend Melanie, daughters Kim (Jason) Organ, grandchildren Isaac and Charlee; Kori-Ann Fiorentino, grandchild Jaxon Kuhl; Mother Daisy; Sister Betti (Bruce) Clarke and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was a true family man enjoying being with his daughters, their partners and their children. The Fiorentino’s are a large family and throughout the years, Dave was at the centre of the laughter and joy. Dave was an incredible son to Guy and Daisy and during their later years it was his mission to ensure they were taken care of. His grandchildren were his pride and joy – only Jax had permission to sit in his special armchair, and there was never a moment that the 3 grandkids were in trouble unless Grandad instigated it. Even during Covid when we could not get together, he ensured that Granny night happened and used facetime to cook each week with Isaac and Charlee – they cooked for their parents, and we all had the same meal in our own homes.

David believed in hard work, and he held a variety of jobs-it was important to him that he provided for his family. His jobs included David’s Deli House; Muntz Stereo and Video; Swanson’s Men’s Wear; Remote Contracting where he managed the logging, and his father built the bridges; his restaurant Mrs. Vanelli’s/Tastebuds; Electrolux and lastly Fiorentino Brothers where he maintained the fleet of work trucks.

When his doctor said it is time for you to quit working, your body can not handle it, Dave was overjoyed that the prescription was golf at least once a day and that he did! The first tee time he missed was the day he passed.

Dave was also known for his love of cars and was instrumental in the start up of the Wasa Drags; a car club known as Key City Street Machines and was the push behind bringing the World of Wheels Car Show to Cranbrook.

Dave enjoyed giving back to community by being involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics and the “soup program” with CSCL(Nexus).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 6″ at 4:00 PM at McPherson’s Funeral Home, Cranbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dave’s honour may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Cranbrook or Kidsport Cranbrook.
