Errol Stephen Thorpe

1943- 2020

On Sunday, November 15th, 2020, Errol Thorpe loving husband and father passed away at the age of 77. He was born in Ontario on June 16, 1943.

Errol was a great man well known by many and a friend to all.  He was the guy who always had your back, always willing to lend his friends and family a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor always making someone laugh out loud or cringe at his jokes. His stubborn streak kept him fighting for his will to live. Errol put up a good long battle with congestive heart failure and was given many extensions in life including a pacemaker and 2 new heart valves that granted him more time with his loved ones. A huge thank you to his health care team in Cranbrook and Calgary for their extra care and attention that added years to his life, and most importantly to his wife Barb who took the best care of him day to day.
He is survived by his loving wife Barb Thorpe, his sons Stephen Thorpe (Collette), Jamie Williams (Colleen) his daughter Patricia Rambold (Paul) as well as his stepsons Jody Pocha (Mandi) Brent Pocha (Crystal) Curt Pocha (Jamie). He had 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was so very proud of all his kids and grandkids. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce Thorpe and father Otho Thorpe.

Errol was a man of many wise words, one of his famous quotes “Do things that make you smile with your pants on!” He will be missed by many but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday, June 16, 2021.
