Obituary of Gaetano Anthony Fiorentino

April 16, 1926 – September 20, 2021

Born April 16, 1926, in Amato, Italy, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021, at The Pines Care Home in Kimberley, B.C. surrounded by his family.

Guy moved to Canada in February of 1936. He spent all his life living and working in Cranbrook, B.C. He was known to be an incredibly hard worker; never did he shy away from a task. If a family member or neighbour needed a hand he was there. As you drive through the Kootenay back country you will no doubt drive over one of the many bridges built by Guy and his sledge.

He will leave the legacy of strong loving family values. His love of family was second to none.

Guy met the love of his life, Daisy, when she was 15 and he was 20. They were married on April 18, 1949, and spent over 72 wonderful years together travelling, enjoying their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as their amazing extended family and friends.

Guy is survived by his loving wife Daisy (Miller) Fiorentino, son David & Melanie (Roberts) Fiorentino, daughter Betti & Bruce (Clarke), grandchildren Kim & Jason (Organ), Kori-Ann Fiorentino, Cindy & Allan (Crawford), Beth & Adam (Wolfenden), Sondra Middleton, Brian & Rebecca (Gianuzzi) Clarke, great grandchildren Isaac “Dinosaur Man”, Charlee “Little Chicken”, Jaxon, Katie (Greg), Garret, Michael (Kenzie), Trevor (Kaitlyn), Justin, Emily, Keaton and Jordan, brothers Frank (Kathy), Gus (Tina), Ang (Lina), sister Rose, and many many nieces and nephews.

Guy was predeceased by his parents Augustino & Rosa, brother Tony (Jean), and sisters Kay (Jim) and Connie (Frank).

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation in Guy’s honour to the Kimberley Special Care Home “The Pines” 386 2nd Ave, Kimberley, B.C. V1A 2Z8.

The family would like to extend their thanks & gratitude to Dr. Burch and all the amazing nurses and staff of The Pines Care Home, for all the wonderful care Guy received over the past 2 years. He was filled with peace and joy and of course the great food.
