On July 6, 2026, Jeanne Soutar peacefully passed away with her family by her side. Jeanne was born in Saskatchewan, but settled in Terrace, BC for over 30 years raising Arabian horses. She then followed her daughter, Alison, to Revelstoke, BC with horses in tow where she was a beloved Nana to two granddaughters, Alissa and Samantha. She took them on many adventures, biking in the mountains, wading through rivers, and instilling a love of nature in both of them. Fourteen years later she moved once again to Cranbrook with her family where she settled for the remainder of her life. She grew to love the area, spending her time hiking in the mountains with her beloved dogs Harley and Archie and friends`. Her beaming smile and mischievous sense of humour will be greatly missed.

Jeanne is survived by her three children Alison (Jeff) Muench, Marty (Kristina) Evans, and Ken Thompson. Sadly, her son, Cameron Maximchuk predeceased her on July 6, 2024. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Alissa, Samantha, Jamie, Alex, Krystina, Sean, and Rian, and three great-grandchildren: Jackie, Ben, and Kayla.

A Celebration of Life for Jeanne will take place on Saturday July 18, 2026 from 1-4 pm at 907 8th Street South Cranbrook B.C.
