Obituary of Joshua Eldon Wales

Joshua Eldon Wales

It is will great sadness to announce the passing of Joshua Eldon Wales. Joshua was born in Cranbrook and was the third son of Eldon and Juananne Wales.

His youth was spent playing with his brothers Ryan and Jeremy and his cousins Danette and Braden. They roamed the family property finding adventure at every step. Joshua loved animals and he brought home every cat and dog that the family ever owned.

As a teen, he enjoyed hockey, golf and fly fishing. Joshua loved baseball and was always disappointed that his parents never let him play. However, he turned his interest and became an avid Blue Jay fan.  Joshua and his father spoke almost daily about the Blue Jay games, the players and trades made.

After high school, Joshua entered the trades and started a plumbing apprenticeship. However, when the company he was working for needed a Sheet Metal  apprentice, he switched trades.  He eventually received his journeyman ticket. He was so talented and could build almost anything out of tin.  Joshua worked in this field for many years. Joshua had a love affair with trains and when he had the opportunity to work for CPR, he took it. He always felt this was his dream job. As a conductor, he loved teaching the new trainees.

Joshua is survived by two sons, Jack Wales and Brixton Wales-Mahon. They were the light in his life and their time together was too short. He will also be missed by the love of his life Amanda Mahon.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Eldon and Juananne Wales, his brothers Ryan Wales (Whitney) and Jeremy Wales (Amber) and nieces Bridget and Eloise. He will be missed by his large extended family of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Joshua was predeceased by his  Grandparents-Douglas Armstrong, Annie Armstrong (Olsen), Stanley Wales and Loretta Wales (Dilts).

Joshua’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for your prayers and support during this very difficult time.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 18 at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2210 2nd St N. Cranbrook, V1C 5H4.
