Obituary of Joyce Louise Wells
Joyce Louise Wells (Webber)
With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Joyce Louise (Webber) Wells announce her peaceful passing on December 4, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. Joyce’s gentle presence, grace, and open heart blessed everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Joyce was born on April 24, 1951, in Flin Flon, Manitoba, to her parents Richard and Marion Webber. Joyce grew up in a large, close-knit family with 10 siblings and
childhood friends.
Joyce spent many dedicated years working for the Hudson’s Bay Company, where her kindness, reliability, and warm smile were appreciated by colleagues and customers alike. After retiring, she and her beloved husband Arden Wells moved to the Eagles Nest in Moyie, where together they enjoyed years of friendship, laughter, and community. Joyce was also well known—and well loved—at the Eagles Hall bingo, where she formed many valued friendships.
Joyce had a gift for loving people exactly as they were. She accepted everyone, welcomed them with grace, and held space with understanding. To her family, she was a steady place of comfort and faithfulness. To her many nieces and nephews, she was a source of unconditional support, encouragement and love.
She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother Jim Webber, sister Shirley Wiebe, brother Bill Webber, sister Joan McDonald, sister Pat Bernhard, and sister Lorraine Fox. Each of them held a cherished place in her heart.
She leaves behind her husband Arden who she devoted 54 years of marriage to. Her son Jim Wells, sister Elaine and Walter Langenbach, brother Albert and Val Webber, brother Ed and Donna Webber, sister Donna and Claude Biever. Joyce will be forever remembered by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored deeply. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Gus, whose companionship brought her great comfort.
A woman of faith, Joyce lived her life with the kindness and compassion. Her gentle spirit, her ability to make everyone feel seen, and her warm, generous heart will continue to live on in the memories of all who loved her.
Joyce was so very loved. And she will be forever remembered through laughter and storytelling.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Eagles Hall, a place she believed in wholeheartedly for its charity, community support, and the hard work they do to uplift others.
Some people leave a mark
Just by walking through the world—
Quietly, gently,
With kindness woven into every step.
Joyce was one of those rare souls.
The kind of person
Who made life softer,
Hearts lighter,
And days a little brighter
Just by being there.
She listened without judgment,
Gave without hesitation,
Loved without conditions.
If goodness had a shape,
It would look a lot like her.
Her laughter warmed our spirits,
Her presence steadied our storms,
And her grace—
Oh, her beautiful grace—
Taught us what it means
To truly care.
Now the world feels different,
Quieter,
A little dimmer
Without her smile in it.
But love like hers
Doesn’t disappear.
It stays
In every life she touched,
In every memory she left glowing behind her.
We were blessed to know Joyce,
Honoured to love her,
And our hearts will keep her close—
Not just in memory,
But in the way she taught us
To love one another.
