Obituary of Leonard “Len” Albert Bernhard

Leonard “Len” Albert Bernhard

Leonard “Len” Albert Bernhard passed away suddenly at his home on January 2, 2026, at the age of 73.

Len was born on March 31, 1952, in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Norbert and Jean Bernhard. He was predeceased by his parents and by his wife, Patricia Evelyn (Webber) Bernhard.

Len is survived by his son, Jason Bernhard; daughter-in-law, Amy (McDonald) Bernhard; and his grandchildren, Hayli-Jay Bernhard, Jack Rowen Bernhard, and Brynlee Evelyn Bernhard. He is also survived by his sister Beverly (Don) Zollen and his brother William Bernhard.

Len had a lifelong love for classic cars—especially his Dodge Dart and his Duster which always had to be Petty Blue. He often shared that the moment he saw Pat, he knew she would one day be his wife. After a whirlwind romance, they married on October 22nd, 1977. Soon after, they welcomed their son Jason who became the center of their world.

With the help of family, Len built the family a log home in Channing, a place filled with hard work, determination, and many memories. He worked faithfully for many years at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting before retiring. Following retirement, Len and Pat moved to Eagle’s Nest in British Columbia, where he became known for his willingness to help others—plowing snow in the winter and lending a hand whenever something needed doing.

Len enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching old movies, and spending time with friends in the park reminiscing about the good old days. He was a steady presence with a strong work ethic and a quiet appreciation for life’s simpler moments.

Len will be missed by those who knew him.
