It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Ann(Chatson) Ross.

Lorraine passed away on July 12th, at the Kimberley Special Care Home in Kimberley, B.C., with her husband, Cecil at her side. Lorraine was born in Kimberley, B.C. to Ken and Hazel Chatson on April 13, 1941. Lorraine married Cecil Ross in 1959 and moved to Alberta in 1967. They lived in Calgary, where they raised their three daughters, and returned to the East Kootenay in 1998. They settled in Invermere, B.C. to be close to their daughter, Nancy(Wilfley) and their grandson, James(Wilfley). They enjoyed being back in B.C. and were happy to be close to family in Kimberley. Lorraine enjoyed volunteering for the Windermere and Invermere Ladies Auxiliary, where she made many lasting friendships.

Lorraine’s happy place was spending time with her family, she loved gardening and was a phenomenal cook.

Lorraine leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 67 years, Cecil Ross. Daughters – Debra(Barry), Nancy(Chuck), Catherine(Mike) She will be fondly remembered by her Grandchildren – James(Alyssa), Jessica(Rob), Garth(McKayla) Great Grandchildren – Riley, Gabriella, Charlotte, Sister – Janice(Mike) Nieces and Nephews – Tracy(Al), Shawn, Clayton, Jean(Glen), James Sisters-in-law Catherine(Bill) and Juanita.

She is predeceased by her beloved parents Kenneth and Hazel, and her brother Brock, sister Marie, brother-in-law, Mike, and nephew Brent.

Lorraine gave us a lifetime of love and memories, and we will cherish them. There is no service as per Lorraine’s request. A family Celebration of Life will be a held at a later date.
