Obituary of Lucille Winnifred Gredzuk

Lucille Winnifred GREDZUK

September 29, 1938 ~ April 5, 2021 (age 82)

Lucille Winnifred Gredzuk, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the age of 82.  She was born on September 29, 1938 in Fernie, BC.

Lucille is survived by her husband Alex, daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Ray Dykhuizen of Fernie with their children Rosemary (Brad), Megan (Denison), Emily, and Laura; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jody Gredzuk of Fernie with their children Sarah and Tyson (Alexis), and her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Betty Anne Glover of Salmo, BC with their family, Shane (Courtney) and Chad (Christy) Glover.  She was predeceased by her father William Glover and mother Winnifred Jantz (Glover).

Lucille grew up in Fernie and met Alex through her friends.  They were married on November 1, 1958 and continued to reside in Fernie.  Lucille worked in the Imperial Bank of Commerce and the Bank of Montreal while raising her family.

Lucille enjoyed camping with Alex and with family, where she would sit and read, crochet, and listen to the birds and squirrels.  She loved bonfires to roast the perfect, golden-brown marshmallow or hotdog.  Lucille loved visits with her grandchildren throughout the years; birthdays and holidays were always special.  She also loved cooking, and the family enjoyed the delicious meals and treats she lovingly prepared.  Lucille and Alex enjoyed traveling to Reno many times, either driving or taking bus trips, with Alex’s brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Jeannette Ewanick.  She also enjoyed her weekly trips to Cranbrook in the last few years with Alex.

Lucille, Grandma, you are so loved and will be forever in our hearts.  We know you will be watching over us.
