Obituary of Ralph Sigurdur SIGURDSON

Ralph Sigurdur SIGURDSON

September 5, 1950 ~ December 28, 2020 (age 70)

After a long and painful ordeal with failing health, we regrettably notify of Ralph’s passing.

He was born in Winnipeg, MB, September 5, 1950, Third child to Doris and Siggi.

Ralph grew up in the North End and Windsor Park, Winnipeg, but his fondest childhood memories were of the times spent on the family farm, shooting skunks and hunting deer with his cousins.

His chosen vocation, Steel Fabrication, took him to work at many places: Chicago Blower in Winnipeg, Gibralter Mines and Lignums Saw Mill in Williams Lake and lastly, Fording Coal in Elkford, Retiring in 2014.

Ralph and Faye married in Riverton, Manitoba December 30, 1972 and moved west.  Seven years in Williams Lake, where his pride and joy Amber and Thor were born.  His focus was on family and their well being. In January 1980 moved us to Elkford. Camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, coaching hockey, riding motorcycles, time spent with friends and family and pet dogs were his pleasures in life.

Ralph was predeceased by his sister Sherri (Don), sister-in-law Irene.

He is survived by his loving family, wife Faye (nee Finnson), daughter Amber (David), son Thor (Tawny) and his greatest treasure, granddaughter Mycah. Sister Patricia (Gerald), sister-in-law Gayle, nephews Dean, Jeff, Mike, Jay, Chris, Paul and Daniel and nieces Stefanie and Lise and several cousins. His loyal friends completed him.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his well-lived life will occur when we are all able to congregate again.

His final resting place will be in the family plot in Vidir Grafreitur, Manitoba.
