Vicky Ann McDonald

Vicky Ann McDonald passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Vicky was born on July 26, 1955, in Nanaimo, British Columbia, the daughter of Norman and Winnie Bennett.

Vicky and her husband, Leslie, moved to Cranbrook from Victoria in 1979. She worked for the Provincial Government with the Rentalsman’s Office and Corrections Branch until 1990, when she began a long and fulfilling career with School District No. 5. Vicky served as an Education Assistant for 25 years, dedicating herself to supporting children with learning and physical challenges.

Vicky was actively involved in the Ladies Fastball League until it folded and later enjoyed being part of the Ladies Golf League at the Cranbrook Golf Club. She was creative and artistic, finding joy in tole painting and watercolour art.

Above all else, Vicky was deeply devoted to her family. She was always concerned for her children, grandchildren, friends, and her beloved husband.

Vicky is survived by her husband, Leslie; her son, Terence (Alisha); her brother, Leigh (Carol); her nephew, Dennis; her niece, Lisa; and her cherished grandchildren, Sierra, Cedar, Ander, and Lachlann.

She was predeceased by her father, Norman Bennett (1994), and her mother, Winnie Bennett (2010).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Keith Lowden and the chemotherapy team, as well as all the caring staff on the third floor at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the Cranbrook Golf Club. Details will be announced at a later date.
