Wilber Allen Rice

Wilbur Allen Rice age 95, long time resident of Kimberley B.C. passed away at Columbia House in Invermere B.C. On August 21, 2024

Al was born in the old Kimberley hospital January 31, 1929.

He graduated at age of 19 in Kimberley, then shortly after married Edith Bertha Meeker. They had 3 boys; Bob (predeceased Sept 1, 2023), Dan and his wife Dianna (predeceased June 10, 2012), Greg, two granddaughters Jocelyn (Jim), and Heather, two grandsons Michael (Brandi) and Jeffrey, and two great-grandsons Jordan and Brayden.

Al worked after graduating till retirement from Cominco at age 58 . AL enjoyed tinkering in his basement with his electronics , music, and tapings. Once Edith moved to the Pines, Al was there daily and enjoyed all the musicians and entertainment with her and Bob. After Edith passed, Al was a member of Kimberley Daybreak program which he enjoyed old and new friends. Al was an icon of Kimberley with many good friends over the years . Thanks to the staff at Columbia House for their great care and compassion of Al. He will be sorely missed by many including his longtime friends and surviving relatives.
