Obituary for Terrance Wayne LaRush “Terry”

LARUSH, Terrance Wayne

“Terry”
August 09, 1940 – January 29, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry LaRush on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Cranbrook, BC after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and he will be greatly missed.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary (nee Collinson), children Tim (Brenda), Eileen (Glen), Robert (Sherri), Ben, Shauna, and Jason (Carly); grandchildren Christina (Ernie), Bryce (Courtney), Jeff (Kayla), TJ, Robyn (Om), Maddison, Dylan, Brooklyn, Ariana, Phoenix, Emily and Piper; and great grandchildren Sierra and Peyton. He is also survived by two sisters and long-time family friends, Al and Norma Gartner.

Terry was an extremely hard working man. After leaving The Pas, Manitoba where he was born, Terry travelled to Eastern Canada, working odd jobs before eventually joining the Navy. Terry moved across Canada to the West Coast and lived on Texada Island where he learned underground mining. Moving to Kimberley, BC in 1977 to further his career in mining, Terry met and married Mary and together they settled in Marysville for a few years and then moved to Cranbrook where he built a farm from ground up. Working on the family farm was a passion of his, and he passed on his hard work ethic and knowledge to his children. He also loved a great game of cards and crib, and loved to joke with everyone. With his passion for his farm he built a beautiful place to raise his kids, and for them to come back for visits.

We love you Dad. You will forever be in our hearts until we meet again.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, July 7, 2018; more information will be announced at a later date. The family wishes to raise awareness about Multiple
