Strength in Numbers – Arts Station Volunteers
The Arts Station is priveleged to have so many volunteers who are not only generous with their time but are also fantastic artists.
This gallery exhibit will feature the work of some of the many people who ensure that The Arts Station continues to offer new and exciting arts and culture programs to the community. Events like the Lantern Fest and the Indie Films Fernie Series would not be possible without the tireless assistance of our volunteers. This month we are seeking to highlight their efforts by highlighting their artistic works.
If you are interested in participating in this show please contact Courtney at The Arts Station for an application at [email protected].
ARTworks fundraiser
The Arts Station is pleased to be able to host the first annual ARTworks Fundraiser for Visual Arts Programming. So if you have a piece of art collecting dust in your attic or on your mantel and want to change it out for something new and exciting than ARTworks is the event for you!
You have the option of either donating your pieces to The Arts Station for sale or let us do the selling for you for a small percentage of the sale price (you get 85% and The Arts Station gets 15%). Any and all forms of expression are welcome – prints, originals, pottery, textiles or fibres, photography, sculpture and so on.
The ARTworks sale is on Sunday, August 7 with item drop-off happening throughout the week. All pieces can be dropped off at The Arts Station.
If you have any questions please contact Courtney at 250-423-4842 or at [email protected]. So get going on cleaning out your space and putting up a new, inspiring piece that you can admire for years to come!

Shannon Kelly – Spirit Series
Opening reception Thursday, July 28 at 7 p.m.
Show continues until Tuesday, August 23.
Working on several bodies of work simultaneously Shannon Kelly’s style of painting is experiential. Beginning without a plan or picture and allowing the painting to develop organically creates series of works that represent a part of who Shannon is and each painting is a piece of that story. The SPIRIT paintings are evocative and surreal and are metaphysical in nature, this is reflected in the multiple layers of paint and hidden meanings.
