Indie Films Fernie presents Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry on Monday, December 3 at 7 p.m.at the Vogue Theatre
Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry (US, English, Mandarin with English subtitles) opened the 2012 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival to great critical acclaim.
It tells the story of media savvy Chinese activist artist Ai Weiwei who was appointed the artistic design consultant for the Bird’s Nest Stadium at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and runner-up for TIME Magazine’s 2011 Person of the Year.
This timely film was an essential portrait of a key contemporary figure and an engaging look into China’s internal politics in the wake of its Olympic display of promise and growth.
