The Disappeared showing Monday at The Vogue
Indie Films Fernie is presenting a showing of The Disappeared on Monday evening, January 6 at The Vogue Theatre.
The Disappeared (2012 – Canada) begins with six men escaping their sinking fishing boat on the North Atlantic. The surviving crew of six avoids a watery death by escaping in a pair of dories along with the scant supplies they could grab.
Drifting further and further from where they sank and with no sign of rescue, they decide to row for shore. These seafaring, saltwater-hardened men are initially practical in the face of disaster. However, time wears on, and it becomes clear how each man is clinging ever more desperately to their customs to avoid staring down the insanity of the indifferent ocean all around them. Filmed in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
